Performance also depends upon the activity and abiotic factors such as temperature, humidity in environment which should be considered while using Dcoit-10 coatings.
Researchers are also working to develop strategies for the incorporation of Dcoit-10 in coating formulations, namely by manipulating its concentration such that toxicity may be minimized while adapting its efficacy. Moreover, they are working on creating advanced coating formulations with more adhesion to different types of surfaces and resistance against diverse environmental conditions.
Understanding how Dcoit-10-based antifouling agents achieve these effects is essential for assessing the ability of such coatings to inhibit microbial and biofilm growth. Research showed that Dcoit-10 works by interfering with the communication system of bacteria, preventing them from adhering onto surfaces and creating biofilms.
